This module has helped me think about student centered assessment in the following ways..
I have never really involved students in the assessment process other than allowing them to exchange papers and check each other's work that only for practice and not an actual grade. I have also utilized partners in reading to time the readings and mark the errors. However, those activities are very simplified. This module helped me think about the benefits of including the students in the assessment process and assisting them in becoming self-directed learners and encourage higher order thinking. After going through this module, I think that student centered assessment is not a bad idea.

Module 4 Reflection
When I first opened the Week 7 folder in Module 4, I was scared out of my wits after reading the warning. I was really stressing over the idea of creating a student sample. Originally, I was going to create a brochure for my student sample, but I could not get the formatting correct. It seemed as if each time I typed something, the other part would move. I soon got frustrated and that is how I decided to do a PowerPoint.
The Excel videos took me back to my undergraduate days when I first learned how to use Excel. I was glad for the refresher course because I had forgotten many of the things that were discussed. I do not use Excel although it could be a great asset to me at work. I am really glad to be finished with Module 4 and I cannot wait to see what Module 5 is all about.

Module 3 Reflection
This module has helped me think about the impact of the Internet on my students' learning in the following way...
After going through the module, I have continuously asked myself if I am using the Internet to its maximum potential. The answer is no. There are so many web based resources that I have not tapped into. One thing that I have also thought about was the fact that teachers should teach their students about copyrighted materials and the proper way to use them. I did poorly on the copyright quiz. Therefore, if I do not know the copyright laws, how can I teach my students about copyright? I decided to do a more in depth study and enhance my knowledge on them so that I can help my students. The tips on conducting Internet searches were also beneficial to me. Narrowing the search can cut down on a lot of time that may be spent trying to find useful information. The Internet can really have a positive effect on my students' learning if it is used efficiently and sensibly.

Module 1 Reflection
This module has made me think about my role as an instructional designer in the following ways:
It has made me question my practices. I have asked myself numerous questions: Am I doing what is best for my students? Am I reaching my students? Am I making this an unforgettable experience for my students? If I am not able to answer yes to these questions, then I f need to reevaluate what I am doing in the classroom. Gone are the days of the traditional "chalk and talk" teacher. In the 21st century, I should be developing lessons that are go beyond the textbooks and actively engage the students. I have a commitment to my students to provide them with a learning experience that will benefit them outside the classroom.
